Academy Award winner Charlize Theron has shared a humorous and candid update regarding her dating life and the evolving roles of her two daughters.
During a guest appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show this week, the 50-year-old actress revealed that her children, Jackson and August, have become her biggest cheerleaders in the romance department.
Theron admitted she was initially concerned her daughters might feel "threatened" by a new person in her life, but the reality has been quite the opposite.
According to Theron, her daughters are now "actively involved" and often push her to follow through with plans.
"They're like, 'Mom, is he texting you? Like, go on the date, mom,'" she told Barrymore, noting how funny it is to have them monitoring her phone for potential suitors.
Despite the encouragement, the Mad Max: Fury Road star was firm about her personal boundaries, stating she currently has no interest in cohabitating with a partner.
"I don't think I could ever live with somebody again," she asserted, suggesting that a partner living "down the street" would be a much more ideal arrangement.
Theron explained that this preference is largely rooted in her current life stage as a mother. Having adopted Jackson in 2012 and August in 2015, she acknowledged that while she is looking for something "very specific" in a relationship, her primary focus remains on the home she has built for her children.
However, she left the door slightly ajar for the future, conceding that her "empty nester" years might eventually shift her perspective.
For now, the actress appears content balancing a high-profile career—including her upcoming role in the thriller Apex—with the enthusiastic support of her family.
