Gwen Farrell Adair, the versatile actress recognised for her recurring roles as various nurses on the legendary television series MASH*, has died at the age of 94.

Her son confirmed that she passed away from natural causes on Thursday in Sherman Oaks, California. Born in Austin, Texas, Farrell made her onscreen debut in 1972 during the second episode of the CBS war comedy-drama.

Over the show's acclaimed eleven-season run, she portrayed Nurses Gwen, Wilson, Butler, and Able, eventually becoming a familiar face to millions of viewers until the series concluded in 1983.

Beyond her television work, Farrell enjoyed a prolific film career with appearances in notable titles such as Soylent Green, Earthquake, and The Towering Inferno.

However, her influence extended far beyond the screen; she was a trailblazer in the sporting world, becoming the first female licensed boxing referee in 1979.

Additionally, she managed Los Angeles boxers and operated a Fatburger franchise, a business founded by her mother, Lovie Yancey.

Her family expressed their profound grief in a heartfelt statement, writing, "She was a grandmother, a guiding light, and a steady source of love and wisdom. She had a way of making those around her feel supported."

The family has established a GoFundMe page to assist with funeral expenses, reflecting on the "deep void" left by her passing.
