Alongside the new speaker announcement, SXSW London introduced its first Youth Mental Health Hub, aiming to connect leaders from healthcare, science, technology, policy, and media to “enhance a collective approach.”
The initiative, created by the Child Mind Institute in collaboration with Wellcome, will span a week, bringing together experts such as Miranda Wolpert and Catherine Sebastian (Wellcome), Margaret Laws (Hopelab), Mark Jordans (War Child/King’s College London), Marcia Brophy (UNICEF), Julia Gillard (chair of Wellcome and former Australian Prime Minister) and Chelsea Clinton.
It will also feature voices from the UK like Maggie Aderin, Dean Perryman (Empty Chairs), and Victoria Hornby (Mental Health Innovations), in addition to a U.K. government minister.
Katarina Sherling, leading the conference at SXSW London, stated: “This newly announced group of speakers exemplifies the diverse discussions we’re planning as June approaches. SXSW London is dedicated to representing varied viewpoints, all coming together in one distinctive venue.
These new additions affirm our commitment. The Youth Mental Health Hub initiative exemplifies how our ideas translate into tangible impact, uniting voices from various fields to address complex challenges that no single sector can tackle independently, driving significant change. This is what makes SXSW London a compelling catalyst for transformation.”
