Josh Peck admits 'mistake' from wedding to Paige O’Brien guest list
The actor now regrets how he chose his wedding guest list in 2017
Josh Peck has opened up about what he now considers a “mistake” from his 2017 wedding to wife Paige O’Brien, revealing he regrets prioritising friends over family when finalising his guest list.
The Drake & Josh alum shared his candid reflections on the May 7 episode of his Good Guys podcast, where he discussed how his perspective on relationships has changed since the ceremony, which took place in Malibu.
Peck, 39, said that if he were to revisit the wedding today, he would make different choices about who was invited, particularly when it comes to extended family members and long-term friendships.
“I made this mistake,” he admitted, explaining that some relatives were left off the guest list at the time because of distance or strained family connections.
He said that in hindsight, he now believes family relationships tend to endure longer than certain friendships that may fade over time.
“I have some cousins that I didn’t invite just because there was a time when our families weren’t close enough, which is really a shame,” Peck said.
The actor added that he would now prioritise family over what he described as “rando friends,” noting that many friendships from that period no longer exist in the same way.
“Lean on that as opposed to whatever the flavour of the year is in your friend group,” he said, reflecting on how his outlook has evolved over the years.
Peck also joked that even some individuals who served as groomsmen would no longer make the cut today, adding that his wife shares a similar view on how their guest list would be different now.
The couple, who share three children together, have been married since June 2017.
Peck previously revealed on his podcast that no former Drake & Josh cast members attended his wedding, except for series creator Dan Schneider, who attended due to a personal connection through Peck’s family.
He clarified that the decision was not meant as a reflection on any specific co-star, including Drake Bell and Miranda Cosgrove, but rather a personal choice at the time.
Looking back, Peck said his younger self simply wanted to distance himself from his early career environment, though he now sees things differently with age and experience.
