Apple TV's 'The Studio' sets record as most awarded debut comedy in BAFTA triumph

After achieving an extraordinary milestone by sweeping every major awards show, Apple TV‘s industry-themed series The Studio has set a new record as the most-awarded debut comedy ever.

With its recent success at the BAFTA Television Awards, the Seth Rogen-led show has officially become the first comedy to claim victory at all major awards in a single season.

This satire emerged victorious at the Emmys, Golden Globes, Actor Awards, Critics Choice, along with the Producers, Directors, and Writers Guild shows, capturing the most coveted accolades.

It also became the first comedy in ten years to secure a win in the International category at the British ceremony, marking the streamer's inaugural victory in this category.

At the Emmys, The Studio clinched 13 awards, including Outstanding Comedy and Outstanding Lead Actor for Rogen, breaking a record.

The series is among the select few to receive the Golden Globe, Emmy, and Critics Choice Awards for Best Comedy.

Additional record-setting accolades include an American Film Institute Award for TV Program of the Year and a clean sweep at the Actor Awards (formerly known as SAG Awards).

Upon receiving the International award, Rogen dedicated the honor to the late co-star and comedy legend Catherine O’Hara.

“In recognising Catherine O’Hara, I must say she was incredibly important to us,” he remarked. “I believe her contributions held the same significance to you here as they did to us, so this one is in tribute to Catherine.”

The Studio centers on Matt Remick (Rogen), a hapless TV executive at the fictional Continental Studios, as he navigates the differing goals of film artistry and corporate agendas. Production on Season 2 is currently underway.
