Kai Trump, the 19-year-old granddaughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, is heading into a new chapter focused on competitive golf as she graduates from high school and prepares for college life.

Kai, the daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, is set to graduate from The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Florida, on Friday, May 15—just days after celebrating her 19th birthday.

This fall, she will begin attending the University of Miami, where she is expected to compete on the women’s golf team while continuing to develop her game at the collegiate level.

A source close to the family told People that Kai is “extremely focused on golf,” adding that she has shown the discipline needed to pursue the sport seriously at a competitive level.

The source also noted that Kai has “grown up with the sport,” influenced in part by her grandfather’s long-standing interest in golf and his ownership of numerous golf courses worldwide.

Kai has reportedly benefited from exposure to high-level players and training opportunities in Florida, where she moved as a teenager and began dedicating more time to the sport.

“She is a good player,” the source said, adding that with the right coaching, her development is expected to continue rising in the years ahead.

Kai has also already competed in tournaments that have drawn attention within junior golf circles, building a reputation as a committed young athlete.

At the University of Miami, she will join a program that recently placed 10th at the 2026 ACC Championships, with hopes of contributing to the team’s future success.

Despite her family’s political profile, Kai has publicly said she has no intention of entering politics, instead focusing on athletics and personal ambitions.

She has also attracted attention for her growing presence on social media, though sources say golf remains her top priority over content creation.

Kai’s personal connection to the sport extends beyond her family, as her mother, Vanessa Trump, is in a relationship with professional golfer Tiger Woods, further embedding golf into her immediate environment.

Tiger Woods’ son, Charlie Woods, also a promising young golfer, attends the same school and is set to play collegiate golf at Florida State University in the coming years, setting up a future rivalry at the amateur level.
