Alix Earle reveals why filming her family show was emotionally challenging

Alix Earle opened up about why she initially felt nervous stepping into her new reality series Earle Meets World, revealing that the experience ultimately brought her family closer together.

The 25-year-old social media star appears alongside her family in the Netflix show, which documents their personal lives and relationships.

Speaking at the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue launch in New York, Earle admitted she went into filming with uncertainty about what to expect.

“We were filming with my family from January up until a few weeks ago and it was such a wild ride,” she said.

“I think I was a little nervous in the beginning going into it, I just didn’t really know what to expect. But it honestly brought us all a lot closer, because it’s like a therapy session.”

Earle explained that the production process encouraged open communication within her family, with producers prompting them to directly address unresolved issues instead of avoiding them.

“We have to talk about the issues that we’re having with one another,” she said. “They’re like, ‘All right, go, like, hash out this issue.’ And I’m like, ‘Damn, usually I just like to sweep this under the rug.’”

Despite her initial hesitation, Earle said the experience proved to be unexpectedly therapeutic, helping strengthen her relationships with her family.

“It was actually therapeutic and brought us a lot closer,” she added.

The influencer also joked that her family members—who had little prior on-camera experience—ended up standing out more than she did during filming.

“I was probably the worst one on the show,” she said. “My family members, they’ve never really been in front of cameras before, so they were just letting it rip.”

Beyond her new reality series, Earle has recently reflected on her personal development, sharing a heartfelt message about her growth and achievements.

The podcast host, who also appeared on Dancing with the Stars in 2025 and featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, wrote a message to her future self celebrating her progress through challenges and new experiences.

“I am so proud of you for continuing to reach for the stars,” she wrote. “You’ve pushed yourself out of your comfort zone, which has resulted in independence and growth.”
