Millie Bobby Brown celebrates all forms of motherhood after adopting daughter in 2025
The 'Stranger Things' star revealed she and her husband hope to have a larger family in the future
Millie Bobby Brown has expressed pride in embracing motherhood after adopting a baby girl with her husband Jake Bongiovi in 2025, saying she believes all mothers deserve equal recognition regardless of how they build their families.
The Stranger Things star, 22, spoke about her experience during an interview with Extra, where she reflected on the meaning of motherhood and the importance of celebrating different paths to parenthood.
“We’re all mothers, and no matter if we’re adoptive mothers, birth mothers — a maternal figure. Everybody should be celebrated,” she said. “Everybody is raising beautiful children, hopefully, and we’re raising the next generation.”
Brown added that motherhood, in all its forms, should be acknowledged and valued every day, not defined by a single experience.
The actress and her husband welcomed their daughter through adoption in 2025, marking a major personal milestone for the young couple, who married in 2024 at Villa Cetinale in Tuscany, Italy.
Support for Brown has also come from her Stranger Things co-stars. Cara Buono previously described her as a “natural-born mother,” praising her maturity, work ethic, and grounded personality.
“She has an old soul and brain. She’s a natural-born mother, she’s amazing,” Buono said, while also condemning online abuse directed at the actress.
Brown has also built strong bonds within the Stranger Things cast. Noah Schnapp, whom she chose as godfather to her daughter, shared his joy at seeing her embrace motherhood.
“It’s honestly the greatest joy,” Schnapp said, reflecting on her journey. “I’m just so proud of her.”
Looking ahead, Brown has also expressed her desire to expand her family, revealing that she and Bongiovi hope to have more children in the future.
Speaking on the SmartLess podcast, she shared that coming from a large family has shaped her own vision for motherhood.
“I really want a big family,” she said. “It is definitely in our future.”
Brown, who continues to balance her acting career with family life, said she remains focused on embracing this new chapter while supporting a broader message of inclusion and celebration around motherhood.
