Benny Blanco addresses why he avoids talking about marriage with Selena Gomez
The producer says he chooses not to publicly discuss his intimate life with Selena Gomez
Benny Blanco has opened up about why he chooses not to speak publicly about his intimate life with wife Selena Gomez, saying it is a matter of personal principle rather than any legal restriction.
The music producer addressed the topic during a recent episode of the Friends Keep Secrets podcast, where Lil Dicky asked him directly about his private life with the “Calm Down” singer.
“I’m not allowed to talk about that publicly,” Blanco said, responding to the question about his relationship with Gomez.
He quickly clarified that his decision was not due to any non-disclosure agreement or pressure from Gomez. “No, I’m just, like, a gentleman,” he added. “It’s kind of just, like, a thing I do. I’m a gentleman or something. I don’t know.”
Blanco and Gomez tied the knot in September 2025 after two years of dating.
In earlier interviews, Blanco has spoken openly about their relationship in general terms, describing Gomez as his closest confidant and reflecting on how quickly their connection developed.
“She’s my best friend,” he told Interview magazine in March 2025. “The second time we hung out, I was like, ‘Wait, does she like me?’ I was clueless. From then on, it was easy.”
He added that he quickly became certain about their future together, saying he realized early on that she was “the one,” and even told his mother that he planned to marry her.
While Blanco continues to share glimpses of their relationship, he has made clear that some aspects of their married life will remain private.
