Frankie Valli cancels all remaining 2026 tour dates to focus on his health
The Four Seasons legend says he hopes to return to performing in 2027 after taking the rest of the year off
- Frankie Valli, 92, has cancelled all remaining 2026 concert dates due to health issues
- Nine Ticketmaster dates are listed as cancelled, running from June through to November
- His representative said the decision to cancel — rather than postpone — was made to protect fans financially
Frankie Valli, who at 92 has never lost his passion for performing live, announced on Friday that he is cancelling all of his remaining concert dates for 2026 due to health concerns.
Valli speaks directly to fans
In a message shared on social media, Valli offered a personal apology to those who had already purchased tickets. "I'm so sorry to disappoint the folks who have purchased tickets to my shows," he said.
"But I have decided to take the rest of the year off from touring to focus on my health. I'm looking forward to getting healthy and seeing you all again soon. Thank you for all your good wishes."
Why cancel rather than postpone?
His longtime representative, Victoria Varela, explained that the decision to cancel outright rather than reschedule was a deliberate choice made with fans in mind. "Promoters want to prolong things and not give people their money back," she told Variety.
"But he needs to not keep rescheduling these shows. He realised he needed to take a break and get his health in order, and that is the true issue — he wants to get better without prolonging, through the rescheduling process, the pain of people who've bought these tickets."
Varela added that Valli, a devoted performer who has rarely taken any extended time away from the stage, intends to devote the next six months entirely to his health before considering a return to performing in 2027.
Dates affected
Valli and the Four Seasons had already rescheduled shows originally set for April of this year, which had been pushed back into the summer and autumn before being cancelled altogether.
Ticketmaster lists nine dates as cancelled, with the next three having been scheduled for 26 June in Scottsdale, Arizona, 28 June in Anaheim, California, and 17 July in Newark. His concert calendar had been booked through to a November date in Detroit.
The singer last performed on 22 February at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula. User reviews from that show on Ticketmaster were largely enthusiastic.
Whilst one attendee noted that he appeared "frail," others were full of admiration for his endurance.
One wrote: "This 91-year-old gentlemen stood through 18 songs, never sat down once… This show put a pep in my step and a smile on my face for days."
A legendary career
Valli rose to fame as the lead singer of the Four Seasons and later as a solo artist, with hits including "Walk Like a Man," "Big Girls Don't Cry," "Rag Doll," and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You."
He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2026.
His life and career served as the basis for the acclaimed stage musical Jersey Boys, which ran on Broadway from 2005 to 2017 and was subsequently adapted into a film by director Clint Eastwood in 2014.
