‘Toy Story 5’ marketing sparks rumors of surprise Taylor Swift involvement
Fans believe a string of cryptic clues points to Taylor Swift’s involvement in the Pixar sequel
Speculation is growing among Taylor Swift fans after a series of mysterious promotional clues linked to the upcoming Toy Story 5 sparked theories that the pop superstar could be involved in the highly anticipated sequel.
The rumors gained momentum after Pixar unveiled billboards in several major cities, including Chicago, Los Angeles and London, featuring only the letters “TS” alongside 13 white clouds.
For Swifties, the combination immediately raised eyebrows, as “TS” matches Taylor Swift’s initials while 13 has long been associated with the singer as her favorite number.
Fans quickly took to social media to share their theories, with many insisting the imagery could not be a coincidence.
Adding fuel to the speculation, Pixar recently shared a promotional video featuring Jessie dancing in front of one of the billboards.
The clip's caption — “She's making those moves up as she goes” — appeared to reference lyrics from Swift’s hit song Shake It Off, prompting even more discussion online.
The timing has also caught fans’ attention. Toy Story 5 is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 19, the same date that marks the anniversary of the release of Swift’s debut single, Tim McGraw.
Theories surrounding a possible connection between Swift and the film have been circulating for weeks. In late April, fans noticed a countdown on Swift’s website featuring the familiar blue-sky-and-cloud design associated with the Toy Story franchise.
More recently, TikTok users searching for the singer’s name were greeted with a cloud-themed animation reminiscent of the beloved Pixar series.
Meanwhile, eagle-eyed fans pointed out that the cover artwork for 1989 (Taylor's Version) on streaming platforms appeared to have been altered, with seagulls replaced by clouds.
Additional speculation emerged after Swift’s Essentials playlist was reportedly updated to feature only track fives from her albums, while certain “T” and “S” letters in song lyrics appeared capitalized.
Despite the mounting fan theories, neither Swift nor Disney has confirmed any involvement between the Grammy-winning singer and Toy Story 5.
Disney has, however, announced that Bad Bunny will make a voice cameo in the film as Pizza with Sunglasses, a toy described as part of a community of forgotten toys living in an abandoned backyard shed.
The upcoming sequel will continue the adventures of Woody, Buzz and the gang, with promotional footage showing Jessie leading the toys on a mission to help Bonnie navigate new challenges.
