- Miles Teller and Keleigh Sperry were excluded from the wedding guest list
Supermodel Karlie Kloss is set to receive a wedding invitation from Taylor Swift, according to a report published by TMZ on Tuesday. The development came just days after the Daily Mail reported on 30 May that Kloss's invite had been in doubt, leaving many to speculate whether the friendship between the two stars had deteriorated beyond repair.
Swift, 36, is due to wed NFL star Travis Kelce, also 36, on or around 3 July, according to earlier reports. Representatives for both Swift and Kloss had not responded to Page Six's request for comment at the time of publication.
Strained friendships and a selective guest list
A source cited in the Daily Mail's report suggested that Swift had been thoughtful in curating who she wished to have present on her big day.
"[Her] friendships [that] have become strained for various reasons," the source noted, adding that Swift "wants to be surrounded by those who can genuinely share the love and meaning of the day, especially the people who have played important roles in her life for years."
Kloss, 33, and Swift first struck up their friendship in 2013, with the pair making joint appearances in music videos, attending concerts side by side and spending time together at home. For several years, they were considered among the closest of celebrity friends.
The Scooter Braun factor
Their bond, however, began to fracture in 2018 when Kloss wed Joshua Kushner. Swift was absent from the ceremony, citing work commitments — though it was widely noted that Kloss's then-manager, Scooter Braun, was among the guests in attendance.
Braun went on to acquire Swift's early album catalogue in June 2019, a business transaction the pop star has described as leaving her feeling "grossed out." The episode prompted Swift to embark on the extensive re-recording of several of her albums.
The Daily Mail's source alleged that Swift "came to believe that Karlie's intentions were not as genuine as she once thought, and that the friendship became more about proximity to Taylor's fame than a real bond."
Differences reportedly resolved
Despite those allegations, TMZ's sources indicated that the two women have since put their differences behind them. According to the outlet, Kloss will indeed feature on the wedding guest list when Swift and Kelce exchange vows.
She will be in notable company. Amongst those who have reportedly secured invitations to the nuptials are Zoë Kravitz, Ed Sheeran, the Haim sisters, Suki Waterhouse, Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez.
A notable absence
Not everyone in Swift's social circle has been so fortunate. Actor Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh Sperry, were left off the guest list following an apparent falling out with the couple, as Page Six recently confirmed.
The pair were once considered close friends of both Swift and Kelce, making their exclusion one of the more closely watched developments in the lead-up to the highly anticipated ceremony.
