Rebecca Gayheart shares heartfelt tribute as daughter graduates middle school
The post comes months after the death of Eric Dane
Rebecca Gayheart is marking a deeply emotional family milestone, celebrating her daughter Georgia’s graduation from middle school just months after the death of her husband, Eric Dane.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 54, shared the moment on Instagram on June 6, posting a heartfelt tribute to her 14-year-old daughter as she crossed the stage and received a sunflower during the ceremony.
“Congratulations Georgia!” Gayheart wrote alongside the image, capturing the proud moment.
In her message, Gayheart reflected on what she described as a challenging year for her daughter, praising her resilience and strength during a difficult period.
“You have graduated middle school and survived an incredibly difficult year,” she wrote. “I am so beyond proud of you — your tenacity, grit and grace has been on full display. Welcome to high school — I have no doubt you’re ready.”
She also highlighted Georgia’s achievement of earning an MVP beach volleyball award, adding, “Bravo, congratulations and I love you so much.”
The post quickly drew supportive messages from friends and fellow actors, including Ellen Pompeo, Alyssa Milano and Robin Tunney, who offered their congratulations in the comments.
The milestone comes less than a year after the passing of Eric Dane, who died on February 19 following a battle with ALS, which he had been diagnosed with in April 2025.
At the time of his diagnosis, Dane had expressed gratitude for the support of his family as they navigated his illness.
Gayheart has largely kept her family life private in recent years, but her latest post offered a rare and heartfelt glimpse into a significant moment of transition for her daughter.
