Phoebe Bridgers introduces strict no-phones policy for global tour

Phoebe Bridgers is sparking widespread debate after announcing a strict no-phones policy for her upcoming The Lost Tour, requiring fans to disconnect completely during her shows.

The 31-year-old singer revealed the policy as she announced tour dates on Instagram, writing simply: “I’m going on tour no phones.”

The announcement quickly drew attention across social media, with fans divided over the decision.

According to a press release, all smartphones, smartwatches, and similar devices will be locked in Yondr pouches upon entry to venues.

While fans will retain possession of their devices, they will be inaccessible for the duration of each performance. Anyone found using a device during the show risks removal from the venue.

The tour will mark Bridgers’ first major global run since 2023, spanning the UK, Europe, and North America.

It is set to open in Indianapolis on September 15 before continuing through major cities including Chicago, Brooklyn, Philadelphia, Detroit, Boston, and Los Angeles, as well as stops in Toronto and Vancouver.

Support acts for the tour will include Alex G for North American dates and Isaac Wood for the UK and European leg.

Bridgers’ decision follows a recent series of intimate performances, including a headline show at Madison Square Garden where tickets were famously priced at just $1, further fueling interest in her unconventional approach to live music.

While some fans have praised the phone-free format as a refreshing attempt to encourage full audience immersion, others have questioned its practicality in an era defined by constant digital sharing and social media documentation.

The announcement has already made The Lost Tour one of the most talked-about upcoming live music events, with debate continuing to build ahead of its launch.
