Kensington Palace has confirmed that Prince William held a series of significant meetings at Windsor Castle, as fresh claims emerged that Meghan Markle has joined her husband Prince Harry in an effort to repair relations with King Charles.

According to a report by the National Examiner, the Duchess of Sussex and the Duke are said to be united in a mission to broker peace with the King, building on Harry's existing efforts. The Duke is reportedly pleased by his wife's shift in position on the matter.

Meghan has reportedly also put together a "huge gift basket" for her father-in-law King Charles and Queen Camilla, accompanied by a personal message, as a gesture of goodwill.

The couple are said to have stepped up their reconciliation efforts in the knowledge that William is unlikely to extend the same leniency once he assumes the throne.

Amid these reports, on Monday, 8 June, the Prince of Wales and Duke of Cornwall chaired a meeting of the Prince's Council at Windsor Castle. William, who also serves as President of United for Wildlife, held a further meeting at Windsor Castle later that afternoon.
