Faizon Love, best known for his role in Elf, was arrested in Florida on Tuesday after authorities took him into custody on a warrant tied to alleged violations of a court order, according to jail records.

The 58-year-old actor was booked in Hillsborough County and charged with two counts of contempt of court. He is currently being held without bond at Orient Road Jail in Tampa.

Love was reportedly arrested in connection with an ongoing paternity-related legal case, according to TMZ, which first reported the development.

A mugshot released following his arrest showed the actor wearing an orange jail-issued shirt with a blank, tired expression.

Faizon Love held without bond as legal history resurfaces

Love, who has appeared in films including Elf, The Replacements and Couples Retreat, has previously faced legal trouble.

In 2017, he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor after being involved in a caught-on-camera incident in which he assaulted a valet at John Glenn Columbus International Airport in Ohio. He was fined and given a suspended jail sentence.

He was also accused in 2024 of felony assault after an alleged incident at a California hotel, where he was said to have thrown a credit card machine at a staff member during a dispute over a room booking.

According to a criminal complaint, the incident escalated after a booking issue at a San Diego hotel, leading to allegations that Love struck a clerk with a payment device, causing injury.

The actress has not publicly responded to the latest arrest, and representatives could not immediately be reached for comment.
