Sharon Osbourne shares health update after surprise hospital stay

Sharon Osbourne revealed she recently made an unexpected trip to the hospital, forcing her to miss the unveiling of a statue honouring her late husband, Ozzy Osbourne.

The television personality shared the update on social media after she was absent from the June 18 ceremony at Hellfest in France, where a statue of the heavy metal icon was officially unveiled.

“I'm sorry I couldn't be at Hellfest for the unveiling of Ozzy's statue. Unfortunately I had an unexpected trip to the hospital earlier in the week,” Osbourne wrote.

She did not disclose further details about the reason for her hospital visit.

“A big thank you Olivier Garnier, Ben Barbaud and everyone at Hellfest,” she added. “Special thank you to philippe_pasqua_officiel for the absolutely stunning statue!”

Sharon Osbourne Has Faced Health Challenges Before

Osbourne, 73, has been open about several health issues over the years.

In 2022, she was hospitalised following a sudden medical emergency while filming a television project. Speaking about the incident months later, she recalled unexpectedly losing consciousness during production.

“It was the weirdest thing,” she said during an appearance on the UK programme The Talk.

“I was doing some filming and suddenly they told me that I passed out for 20 minutes. I was in hospital, I went to one hospital, they took me to another hospital, and I did every test over two days, and nobody knows why.”

She was also briefly hospitalised in 2020 after testing positive for COVID-19.

Osbourne has previously battled colon cancer and has spoken publicly about her recovery and remission.

Family Exploring New Ways to Preserve Ozzy Osbourne’s Legacy

The health update comes weeks after Sharon and son Jack Osbourne discussed plans to preserve Ozzy’s legacy through artificial intelligence technology.

Speaking earlier this month, Sharon defended the idea of creating a digital version of the late Black Sabbath frontman for future generations.

“Technology moves on,” she said. “For somebody to turn around to me and say I'm doing a cash grab, no. You don't know my husband.”

Sharon said Ozzy often wondered how long he would be remembered and believed the AI project would help preserve his legacy for family members and future generations.

“It's for our grandkids,” she said.

While Osbourne has not shared details about her latest hospital visit, her message reassured fans that she remains engaged in projects honouring her husband's memory and legacy.
