Prince George requested permission from his parents to board weekly at Lambrook School before his planned move to Eton. The second-in-line to the British throne received full backing for the decision from his parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Jobson explained that the experience helped the young prince grow and become part of a collective environment. Addressing his younger children, Prince William noted that George was boarding the previous night and reminded Charlotte and Louis to get to school on time without fighting over radio stations.
