Taylor Swift look-alike Ashley Leechin claps back at ‘Swifties’ amid trolling
Taylor Swift look-alike Ashley Leechin has been receiving criticism for pretending to be the singer
Taylor Swift look-alike Ashley Leechin opened up on the criticism she has been receiving on social media after her “social experiment” went viral.
Ashley clapped back at “Swifties”, calling them a possessive group while sharing her side of the story.
She pointed out all the nasty comments and threats she has been receiving, “If you’re one of the people in my comments saying ‘You don’t deserve to live’ or ‘You should be sued’ and all that stuff, it doesn’t bother me. I’m mentally stable. I’m a mom. I have two kids. I have a husband. I’m solid.”
The American social media personality added, “I didn’t hire them. I collaborated with Vic. Pretty much the social experiment was to live a day in the life of a celebrity — to see what would happen if I went out looking like Taylor Swift.”
Ashley left a witty remark for Swifties and called them “possessive”. She also tried to educate the fanbase on the “dangerous” effects of “possessiveness”.
“You can love her music, you can love her as a person, and you can look up to her...and then there's Swifties. In this fandom, I do feel like there is a possessiveness over Taylor. I feel like that possessiveness can get dangerous, and it did show, it really did.”
Highlighting the “different” experience between the real and online worlds, the TikToker remarked, “I had such a positive experience in person, and then, of course, online, you get a whole different beast.”
Earlier this week, The Love Story singer's look-alike Ashley posted a “social experiment” video in which she was escorted out of a shop pretending to be Taylor Swift. After the video went viral and made headlines Swifties started bashing her.
