Jada Pinkett Smith spills about her bond with late 'soulmate' Tupac Shakur

Jada Pinkett Smith has spilled major beans about her friendship with the late rapper Tupac Shakur, ahead of her memoir release on October 17, 2023.

After making bombshell revelations about her marriage status with the Emancipation actor in her recent interview, the Red Table Talk alum has now opened up   about the dynamics of her relationship with the All EyeZ on Me rapper.

In an interview with RollingOut, the  52-year-old actress named Shakur as someone who she had a "soulmate friendship."

"If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely think that Pac and I have traveled a few together," revealed Jada.

The Girls Trip actress was then asked if she has any regrets about not taking things further with the Hit Em Up rapper, to which she responded, "it just wasn't possible."

She further admitted, "there was no chemistry between us," calling her connection with Shakur a "friendship-love chemistry."

The Angel Has Fallen actress also  shared that having a future together "wasn't the purpose," adding "it was like God made us that way."

She continued, "it was like, look, I'm going to put y'all together, right? Y'all are going to be a dynamic duo. But I'm going to tell you right now, I'm going to make it so y'all are not going to be able to get together 'cause that just wasn't the purpose."

Pinkett Smith tied the knot with Will Smith in 1997. Despite being married to the Pursuit to  Happiness actor since two decades, Jada in her recent interview revealed that the two have parted ways  7 years ago.

"I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be,” said the Set It Off actress in her interview on Today Show.

In another interview with PEOPLE, she said  “we’re still figuring it out. A lot has happened. The thing about relationships is that it's constantly moving relationships are, it's an organism."

She continued, "it's its own thing. It's constantly shifting and constantly moving. There's a lot that's transpired in the last two years, and so we've been doing some really heavy-duty work together.”

Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith are doting parents to son Jaden, 25, and daughter Willow, 22.
