Kirsten Dunst is set to star in The Housemaid's Secret, the upcoming sequel to The Housemaid, joining Sydney Sweeney in the psychological thriller.

The sequel continues the story introduced in the first film, which was based on the bestselling novel by Freida McFadden.

The original movie followed Millie, a housekeeper working for a wealthy family hiding dark secrets. In the new installment, Millie finds herself entangled in another unsettling situation as she cares for a mysterious woman in a large home—one she is strictly forbidden to see.

As suspicions grow, Millie begins to uncover the truth behind a locked door, setting the stage for another tense and suspense-driven narrative.

Paul Feig returns to direct the sequel, while Michele Morrone reprises his role as Enzo, the gardener.

However, Amanda Seyfried and Brandon Sklenar, who appeared in the first film, will not be part of the sequel.

Lionsgate executive Erin Westerman praised Dunst’s addition, calling her an iconic performer whose career brings depth and credibility to the project.

The film marks another major role for Dunst, who is also attached to upcoming projects including A Minecraft Movie 2 and The Entertainment System Is Down, directed by Ruben Östlund.
