Glenn Ficarra and John Requa’s dramedy Honeymoon with Harry featuring Kevin Costner and Jake Gyllenhaal is set to begin filming in Queensland, Australia, this April.

I Know What You Did Last Summer star Sarah Pidgeon is also in discussions to join the team.

The Amazon MGM Studio production, continuing the studio's trend of Queensland-based projects, will film in Brisbane, the state capital, and The Whitsundays tropical islands.

Inspired by Bart Baker's novel, Honeymoon with Harry revolves around a rough-around-the-edges character (Gyllenhaal) who finds himself on an unforeseen trip with his fiancée's prickly, overprotective father (Costner).

Following an unexpected twist, the two are forced to share an island honeymoon where initial tension gives way to an unexpected connection in this heartwarming dramedy.

Screen Queensland announced the shoot, featuring a statement from John-Paul Langbroek, the state’s Minister for the Arts, highlighting the benefits of the Production Attraction Strategy (PAS) incentives in providing job opportunities and economic growth for Queensland.

"Producing Honeymoon with Harry is projected to inject about $51 million into the state's economy, create 215 jobs, and promote Queensland as a tourism destination for global audiences," he mentioned.

Screen Queensland CEO Jacqui Feeney stated, "We are thrilled to be a trusted partner for Amazon MGM, with our local screen industry providing the reliable high-quality expertise they expect, while our attractive incentives allow them to make the most of our stunning locations and top-notch infrastructure."
