Tom Cruise film ‘Mission: Impossible 8’ release date pushed to summer 2025, deets inside
Tom Cruise's 'Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2' was originally scheduled for June 2024 release

Hollywood star Tom Cruise’s fans have been hit with major disappointment as Paramount Pictures delayed the release of Mission: Impossible 8 by almost one year.
According to the reports, studio Paramount has moved Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2 by nearly an entire year, from its original date of June 28, 2024 to its new date on May 23, 2025.
As detailed in The Hollywood Reporter, the latest readjusting in the film’s schedule has been witnessed to accommodate for the lack of films in the pipeline due to the ongoing writers' and actors' strikes in Hollywood.
While the SAG-AFTRA strike is still going on, it has been reported that A Quiet Place: Day One - a prequel to 2018’s post-apocalyptic hit – has also been moved to June 28, 2024 instead of its previously scheduled date of March 8, 2024.
Furthermore, a yet-to-be-titled animated SpongeBob SquarePants adventure has been postponed from May 23, 2025 to Dec. 19, 2025.
‘Mission: Impossible 8’ release:
Amid speculations, it has been revealed that the highly-anticipated Mission: Impossible 8 will arrive on the big screen with a new name.
Production studios Paramount and Skydance will drop the second half of its title, formerly revealed ‘Dead Reckoning Part Two’ soon. The sequel will directly follow the events of 2023’s ‘Dead Reckoning Part One.’
Christopher McQuarrie, who directed the seventh Mission: Impossible movie, which landed in theaters in July this year, will be directing the sequel as well.
Tom Cruise's much-anticipated offering, Dead Reckoning Part One failed to attract expected numbers at the box office. However, the film received rave reviews from moviegoers and critics alike.
