Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, graced the occasion with elegance and familial warmth.

The couple, accompanied by their daughter Lady Louise, embarked on a picturesque journey to the traditional Christmas lunch at Windsor Castle.

At Windsor Castle, the Royal family held their customary Christmas lunch on Wednesday preceding the holiday festivities.

In images featured by the Daily Mail, Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, were observed driving alongside their daughter, Lady Louise Windsor, 20.

Simultaneously, Princess Anne and her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, embarked on the journey together in a separate vehicle.

Reportedly, Zara Tindall, the Princess Royal's daughter, and her spouse Mike Tindall were seen, along with Anne's son Peter Phillips, Prince Andrew, Princess Eugenie, Jack Brooksbank, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who is wed to Princess Beatrice.

Notably absent from the photographed arrivals and departures were Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, which may be attributed to a swift and discreet arrival.

Prince William and Princess Kate at   Christmas lunch:

It is pertinent to mention that Prince William and Princess Kate, frequently attend the holiday gathering, bringing their children along.

Following cancellations in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the lunch was reinstated last year.

In contrast to the usual venue of Buckingham Palace in London during Queen Elizabeth's reign, family members were observed arriving at Windsor Castle for the 2022 event, graciously hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Kate Middleton's third annual Christmas carol concert:

It is pertinent to mention that earlier in the month, numerous members of the royal family embraced the festive season by attending Kate Middleton's third annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey.

Royal Family  Christmas celebrations:

The British royal family observes numerous traditions during the Christmas season. In the upcoming festivities, they are anticipated to reunite at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

The family engages in a lighthearted exchange of inexpensive gag gifts on Christmas Eve, attends a morning church service on Christmas Day, partakes in a turkey feast, and later gathers to watch King Charles' Christmas address on television in the afternoon.
