Margot Robbie has claimed that she can watch The Philadelphia Story and Bridesmaids 100 times as she rightly calls herself a “serial rewatcher.”

Recently, Margot got candid about making movies so “good” that people can rewatch them as many times as they want.

During a conversation with Deadline on Thursday, the Barbie starlet shared, “Honestly, I just don’t know what the point is in making a movie if you’re not trying to dig deep and explore something like that. And maybe it’s because I love old movies so much. I rewatch movies voraciously.”

She added, “Some people never see a movie twice, but I’m a serial rewatcher, and I think, if I’m not going to try and make something that’s better than the films I already love, I’d rather use the time rewatching them. I have no problem watching The Philadelphia Story for the 50th time. I have no problem watching Bridesmaids for the 100th time. So, unless I’m striving to make a movie that’s as good as those movies, I’m just going to rewatch them.”

Margot’s Barbie won the Cinematic and Box-Office Achievement award at the 2024 Golden Globes.

The Suicide Squad star also shared her thoughts on scriptwriting, she noted that it’s a “waste of money” if you can’t come up with a good script.

She continued, “Also, it costs so much to make a movie. Sometimes you’ll read a script and think, “Why is this being made? There’s nothing new or interesting. Nothing better than what has already been done a million times before. Why would anyone want to spend millions of dollars — sometimes tens or hundreds of millions of dollars — on something we’ve already seen?” That is just crazy to me.”

Margot concluded the discussion by saying that a movie can take up-to “years” to make, so it’s better if people “really” put in effort.
