Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes reflected on their 2023's drinking habits before kicking off a "dry January."
During their conversation on Thursday's episode of Amy & T.J podcast, the pair made rare confessions about their "appalling" drinking throughout 2023.
The couple, who lost their respective jobs at GMA 3 in 2022, following the backlash over their romance, dubbed that period as their version of COVID-19 "pandemic."
“I didn’t have a job to go to and I was away from a lot of friends and family. We were laying low. So what did I do? I drank a lot,” Said Robach.
She went on to explain, “A lot more than I ever have. I don’t think I have ever gone a full year where I drink every single day and that was 2023 for me.”
The 50-year-old former anchor revealed that she wasn't getting “wasted” every day, however, “keeping a buzz going all day or keeping a heightened state of mind during an anxious year.”
To which her romantic partner Holmes suggested that he “needs to reexamine [his] relationship with alcohol,” prompting Robach to confess about her drinking habits as well, before going cold turkey.

Robach revealed that she was consuming “over 30 drinks a week,” while Holmes said he could “easily go through 18 drinks” a day.
T.J Holmes playfully got candid about a game he plays with Robach, called "runs to fun" in which the couple run several miles and “end at a bar.”
“Now we will run at 8 or 9 in the morning …. and I come back and we have a beer,” Holmes revealed.
He added that during the “runs to fun” he usually ends up having “two drinks in” by lunchtime.

The couple, who first sparked dating rumours after appearing in public hand-in-hand in November 2022, made references about their relationship during December's episode of GMA3: What You Need to Know.
"You know, it's too bad it's Friday. It's been a great week" said Holmes, prompting his co-anchor to crack up.
He added, "I just want this one to keep going and going and going. Just enjoy it! Take it all in."
To which Robach playfully responded, "Speak for yourself. I am very excited about the weekend — and I'm sure everyone else is too. We all love our Fridays around here. Some of us do, at least."
Amy Robach and T.J Holmes fired from 'GMA 3':
Following their on-screen banter, a source confirmed to PEOPLE at that time that Holmes and Robach would be temporarily removed from GMA 3, for violating workplace ethics.
"GMA decided to have a period of cooling down, because they thought this was unwanted attention," an insider said.
The source added, "So, for the time being, they're going to be off the air."
