Tristan Thompson faces a 25-game suspension without pay for breaching the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program. 

The NBA statement reveals that the Cleveland Cavaliers athlete tested positive for two banned substances, ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033. 

This penalty becomes effective from the upcoming match against the Milwaukee Bucks, according to the NBA announcement.

The 32-year-old basketball player, known for his on-and-off-court controversies, returned to the Cavs this season. 

Both detected substances, ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033, are prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the NCAA.

The statement shared read, "NEW YORK, January 23, 2024 The NBA - announced today that Tristan Thompson of the Cleveland Cavaliers has been suspended without pay for twenty-five games for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program by testing positive for ibutamoren and SARM LGD-4033."

"Thompson's suspension will begin with tomorrow's game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Milwaukee Bucks," it further read.

Thompson, who shares two children with Khloé Kardashian, has been part of the NBA scene for quite some time, with a stint in 2020-21 with the Celtics before rejoining the Cavs this year. 

Despite a rocky past, including a well-publicized cheating scandal, Thompson expressed a desire for reconciliation with Khloé Kardashian in a recent episode of The Kardashians.

This recent suspension adds to Thompson's challenges in the current NBA season, where he's been averaging 3.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in 36 appearances.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Thompson's representatives are yet to provide comments on the situation.
