Chloe Kim soars to new heights with Women's Halfpipe 1260
Chloe Kim has now secured her seventh X Games Aspen title
Chloe Kim soared to new heights at the X Games by successfully executing the first-ever 1260 in the Women's Halfpipe history.
Making her debut at the 2014 X Games, the 23-year-old Kim has now secured her seventh X Games Aspen title.
This achievement sees her match the record for the most X Games Aspen titles, previously held by her mentor, Kelly Clark.
In a stunning display during the Friday finals, Kim executed a cab 1260 after her last run.
Remarkably, she had already clinched the title before this record-breaking move, having flawlessly landed the manoeuvre during her victorious performance.
It is reported by NBC sport that she said, “I really wanted to do that trick for a long time,” adding, “I wish it was a little cleaner, but I’m really stoked that I was able to put it down.”
Following her unprecedented success in the halfpipe, Kim's historic landing was posted by the X Games on the social media platform X former Twitter, “@ChloeKim wins her 7th #XGames SuperPipe gold, tying her mentor Kelly Clark for most in the discipline. In her victory lap, she became the first woman to land a 1260 in a women's snowboard superpipe competition. #XGamesAspen”
In the inaugural event of the X Games last week, she secured the fourth position after experiencing falls in both of her final runs.
Kim rose to global prominence at the age of 17 when she clinched her initial gold medal in the halfpipe at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics.

Making a return to competitive snowboarding this month since her participation in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, the two-time Olympic gold medalist had successfully executed 1260 during practice leading up to the 2022 competition.
However, she faced challenges when attempting the move during the actual event.
Kim initiated her preparations for the 2026 games in October 2023 at a training camp in Switzerland.
According to her coach, she has achieved the distinction of being the pioneer among women to successfully execute 1440 during training, as reported by NBC Sports.
Following the X Games, Kim will make her way to the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix at Mammoth Mountain, California.
