Usher is set to make a triumphant return to the stage for this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show.

As per Forbes, after 12 years since his iconic performance at Super Bowl XLV, Usher will take the stage for 13-minute performance.

The news was conveyed to him by Jay-Z, whose Roc Nation has been orchestrating the halftime shows since 2019.

The selection of Usher aligns with the game's location at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, where the R&B star has gained immense popularity with a sold-out residency and a show, My Way, known for its singing, dancing, and roller-skating extravagance.

Despite the tradition of halftime performers not receiving payment, Usher's strategic move aims to capitalize on the immense exposure the Super Bowl provides.

With last year's halftime performer, Rihanna, witnessing a 390% increase in digital song sales, Usher plans to release his ninth studio album, Coming Home, on the same day as the game.

This savvy marketing move, coupled with licensing agreements for a fragrance line and cognac brand, Rémy Martin, reflects Usher's intent to leverage the Super Bowl platform for a successful 2024.

On the other hand, Usher's return is not merely about the spotlight but also a meaningful tribute to Black artists who paved the way in R&B.

The singer expressed his anticipation for the significant moment, emphasizing the historical challenges Black artists faced in the industry.

Usher is determined to break through the front door, carrying the legacy of those before him.

Grateful for the support throughout his career, he aims to honor everyone who contributed to his success.

He said, "So, everybody that has been a part of it, I’m carrying them with me. All of my fans, my loved ones, the people who may have felt like they have been forgotten, they haven’t. I’m carrying you right with me when I walk on that stage that night."

The Super Bowl Halftime Show will also feature performances by Reba McEntire, Post Malone, Andra Day, and Tiesto.
