Zayn Malik shares health update as he cancels American tour
The singer previously shared a hospital photo while calling his recovery 'unexpected'
Zayn Malik has canceled all of his remaining U.S. tour dates as he continues recovering from an undisclosed illness that recently led to hospitalization.
The 33-year-old former One Direction member shared the update through Instagram Stories on Friday, May 1, addressing fans while confirming changes to his upcoming KONNAKOL Tour schedule.
“To my fans: Thank you so much for all the support and love you've shown me on the album release and more importantly your love, prayers, and well wishes for my health,” Malik wrote. “I've been at home recovering and I'm doing well and will be better and stronger than before.”
He added that after reviewing his upcoming commitments, he had made the difficult decision to scale back his tour plans.
“I've had to take another look at my schedule for the months ahead and have to reduce the number of shows on the KONNAKOL Tour,” he said, adding that he still hopes to “see as many of you as I possibly can.”
Malik also confirmed additional changes in the U.K., including the cancellation of shows in Dublin and Birmingham.
However, he is still set to begin his first solo arena tour in London on May 23, with a newly added Manchester date scheduled for May 24.
The announcement follows weeks of concern over Malik’s health. On April 17—the same day his album Konnakol was released—he shared a photo from a hospital bed, revealing he was “unexpectedly recovering” after a “long week.”
“It’s been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering,” he wrote at the time, also expressing gratitude to medical staff including doctors, nurses, and cardiologists.
While Malik did not disclose his diagnosis, a source previously told People that he had been receiving treatment from a leading cardiologist following his hospitalization for an unspecified condition.
Despite the setback, Malik has continued to express appreciation for fan support, writing that he felt “heartbroken” to miss scheduled appearances but remained grateful for their understanding.
