Luke Combs and Tracy Chapman delivered a rather emotional and much anticipated duet on the song, Fast Car, at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards held on Sunday, February 4, 2024.
As reported by PEOPLE, their rendition was first prefaced with Combs recalling his memories of listening to Chapman's original version of Fast Car.
He further explained that the hit-track was his "favorite song before I even knew what a favorite song was."
Combs and the 59-year-old songstress proceeded to take the stage of the ceremony to perform their own rendition of Chapman’s hit song released back in 1988.
Chapman’s performance at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, the venue of the ceremony, marked her first time singing on a televised program since her last appearance at the show, Late Night with Seth Myers in 2020.
The duo received a warm response from the audience as everyone gave them a standing ovation while Taylor Swift and Brandi Carlile could be seen standing in delight during the performance.
