Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire made a successful debut, collecting $42 million during its opening weekend.

As per Deadline report, the highly anticipated sequel of Ghostbusters: Afterlife spooked audiences with $16 million Friday haul across 4,345 theaters, mirroring the initial success of its predecessor.

Despite mixed reviews from critics, with a 45% Rotten Tomatoes score, audiences were largely positive, giving the film an 86% audience score.

Directed by Gil Kenan and featuring a star-studded cast including Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and Mckenna Grace, the film blends familiar faces with new additions for a fresh adventure.

Legendary/Warner Bros' Dune: Part Two continued its strong run with $16.9 million in its fourth weekend, while Universal/DreamWorks Animation's Kung Fu Panda 4 maintained its momentum with $15.3 million.

Additionally, Neon's Immaculate, starring Sydney Sweeney, made a modest debut, offering horror enthusiasts an alternative to the ghostly antics of the Ghostbusters.
