Taylor Swift proved that the music she made will belong to her as she paid a Jaw-dropping amount to purchase her master recordings.

A day after the Cruel Summer singer announced the ownership of  her first six music albums including, Fearless, Speak Now, Taylor Swift, Red, 1989 and Reputation  via Instagram, an inside source spilled about the hefty amount she paid.

A source told Billboard on Friday, May 30, that Taylor paid around $360 million to take her masters back from Shamrock Capital, equal to the price the private equity firm Shamrock Capital paid to Scooter Braun in 2020.

Scooter took the rights of the Blank Space songstress's albums from her in 2019 when his company Ithaca Holdings acquired her former label Big Machine Records.

After this the record executive sold out Taylor’s original recordings to the private equity firm.

At that time Taylor said, “Scooter has stripped me of my life’s work, that I wasn’t given an opportunity to buy, sad and grossed out.”

The 14-time Grammy winner began re-recording of her albums in 2021 to reclaim her masters.

Taylor announced this amazing news of reclaiming her albums in an emotional letter on her official website.

The letter began with, “I’m trying to gather my thoughts into something coherent, but right now my mind is just a slideshow, a flashback sequence of all the time I daydreamed about, wished for, and pined away for a chance to get to tell this news. All the times I was thiiiiiiiiiiis close, reaching out for it, only for it to fall through.”

Taylor admitted, “almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away. But that’s all in the past now"

She expressed, "I’ve been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words: All of the music I’ve ever made … now belongs … to me.”
