Ozzy Osbourne returned to the stage, while perched on a throne fitting for the “Prince of Darkness”, to deliver his final performance with Black Sabbath.

The English singer and songwriter performed sitting down, due to his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease.

Before a massive gathering of 40,000 fans at Birmingham’s Villa Park, the wild music icon known as the Prince of Darkness, and his band, were further supported by a line-up of various rock legends.

Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones, and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler came together to help make Black Sabbath’s final gig a memorable one.

While an emotionally overwhelmed Ozzy told the crowd, “You have no idea how I feel. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

The bandmates who joined their frontman on stage were guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist and lyricist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward.

Ozzy and his Black Sabbath group then proceeded to play hits from the lead singer’s solo career, before finishing things off with the band’s classic track, Paranoid.

Dubbed the “heavy metal Live Aid”, the concert officially called Back to the Beginning will forward their proceeds to various charities.

Meanwhile, Ozzy Osbourne told BBC News prior to the show’s kick-off that it would be “a goodbye as far as my live performances go, and what a way to go out.”
