The official trailer for Lynn Ramsay’s new film Die My Love has just been released and it has already created a huge buzz after its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this year as the movie stars Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, who is widely regarded as one of the most talented and versatile performers of her generation.

Her upcoming movie is based on the novel of the same name by Arian Harwicz and features a powerful cast led by the Passengers star and Robert Pattinson.

The story is set in rural America and follows Grace, played by Jennifer, a young mother who is struggling with severe mental health issues, particularly psychosis as Grace has recently had a baby and while her husband Jackson, portrayed by Robert, tries to support her, the isolation of their environment makes everything more difficult.

Instead of simply showing her breakdown as weakness, the film explores how her struggles also bring out an intense imagination, wild energy and moments of incredible strength and it’s a raw and emotional portrait of a woman trying to hold on to her identity while facing overwhelming challenges.

The movie also stars legendary actors Sissy Spacek and Nick Nolte as well as LaKeith Stanfield, who add depth and intensity to the supporting roles as each character contributes to Grace’s journey, whether by being a source of conflict, support or reflection of conflict, support or reflection of her weak state of mind.

Critics have already praised the movie for its unflinching honesty and striking visuals and as per Deadline critic Damon Wise, Die My Love is described as “a brutal but beautiful story of a married woman’s mental disintegration.”

He especially highlighted Jennifer’s performance, suggesting it could be one of the finest of her career and possibly earn her a fifth Academy Award nomination.

The screenplay was written by Enda Walsh, Lynne and Alice Birch, who adapted Harwicz’s novel into a gripping script. Behind the camera Lynne brings her signature intense, lyrical style that combines beauty with brutality.

Meanwhile, the production team is equally impressive with Andrea Calderwood, Justine Ciarrocchi, Jennifer herself, Thad Luckinbill, Trent Luckinbill, Molly Smith and even Martin Scorsese serving as producers ensuring the film has both creative and cinematic weight.

At Cannes, Die My Love became one of the hottest titles in the market as Mubi acquired the film for a record breaking $24 million, making one of the festival’s biggest deals this year.

The film is now set for a domestic release in the United States on November 7, 2025 and is expected to be a major awards contender.

With its haunting story, powerhouse performances and the bold vision of Lynne Ramsay, Die My Love is shaping up to be one of the most talked about films of the year.
