Kate Middleton’s anonymous Wimbledon admirer speaks out
The Princess of Wales was famously heckled during her Wimbledon final appearance

Kate Middleton is widely loved and admired everywhere she sets foot, however, during her men’s Wimbledon final appearance last Sunday, a member of the audience expressed his admiration for the Princess of Wales more loudly than others.
When she stepped out onto the Centre Court for the trophy presentation after the game’s conclusion, a heckler loudly screamed “I love you, Kate!”.
The identity of the man has now been unveiled, and it was apparently a Catholic priest from Kentucky who made the loud declaration on July 13.
“I didn’t know if anyone heard. I did not even realise that she made any type of response to it,” Father Jim Sichko told PEOPLE.
Though, notably, Princess Kate did react to the Father’s words; she was captured heartily laughing when she heard the man.
While the 58-year-old priest further revealed that he addressed the future queen because he admires her courage in the face of cancer, a disease Father Sichko has himself survived.
“I also understand the exhaustion that comes from treatment or surgery. I understand the sense of not necessarily wanting to be out, but knowing that there is work to be done,” he explained.
The American native also elaborated the significance of Kate’s decision to be open about her journey with cancer.
“It resonates because she could have kept all of that quiet. She could have decided that this is not something we’re going to share, but by her sharing her own journey and her treatment, and by her willingness to be present, she is doing a lot to heal not only herself, but others, mentally, spiritually, and figuratively,” he added.
Kate Middleton attended both of the women’s and men’s final at Wimbledon this year, albeit, she was accompanied by Prince William and their two eldest children, George and Charlotte, for the latter clash.
