The King was in a fixed position with cameras trained on him when staff members struggled to help him because his ceremonial robe was ensnared.
People could not help but say that more focus was put on the robe than the actual speech.
To add to the embarrassment, royal footage from outings revealed Charles impatiently signalling for Camilla to fast pace her walk so she could pose for pictures with him which many found quite unusual.
