King Charles shares one uncanny ancestor in a centuries old ruler, Luke Evans has revealed in his autobiography Boy from the Valleys: My Unexpected Journey.

The actor who appeared in the 2014 horror action flick Dracula Untold, wrote that the King once shared with him that he is related to Vlad the Impaler.

Attending a Prince’s Trust (now known as King’s Trust) gala dinner in 2014, the 46-year-old actor revealed that the then Prince of Wales confided in him after he found out that Evans was working on the Dracula film at the time.

“I’ll tell you an interesting story. I’m actually related to Vlad Tepes,” the Welsh actor recalled the King’s words in his book.

The Beauty and the Beast star further recounted that the British sovereign then proceeded to inform him about his ancestry “all the way back to the 1400s.”

“He told me he now owns a number of properties in Romania, where Vlad was ruler,” he added.

It is important to note that Vlad Tepes, better known as Vlad the Impaler due to his ruthless antics as a ruler, was a 15th century prince from the Romanian region of Wallachia.

The infamous prince served as the inspiration for the fictional vampire known as Dracula, who was created by the Irish novelist Bram Stoker.

Luke Evans also shared that when he told King Charles that he thought it was “the most incredible story”, the King replied, “Yes, and not a lot of people know it,” before walking past him with a smile.
