Jennifer Lopez has officially cut ties with her record label, BMG, following the release of her 2024 album, This is Me… Now.

According to The Sun, the 56-year-old singer is now an independent artist, having recently released her new single, Birthday, through a smaller company.

The outlet further reported that the deal between the two parties was only for Lopez’s 2024 album, and due to disappointing sales, they mutually agreed to part ways.

The Dance Again artist and BMG had formed a partnership and sealed the deal in September 2023.

An insider revealed, "Jennifer is obviously massively successful and talented but it's been hard for her to find a label who she is on the same page with."

"After her last album came out, it was decided she wouldn't continue with BMG as it wasn't the success she wanted," the tipster added.

To note, the album failed to achieve commercial success on the charts as it only reached No. 55 in the UK.

The On The Floor songstress team is reportedly encouraging her to start a new musical chapter in her life.

She is said to be working on new music, mainly inspired by her divorce from Ben Affleck, whom she tied the knot in 2022.

In addition, Jennifer Lopez is currently on her Up All Night tour, which kicked off on July 8, 2025, in Pontevedra, Spain, and is set to conclude on August 12, 2025, in Sardinia, Italy.
