‘Hogan’s Heroes’ star Kenneth Washington breathes his last at 88
Kenneth Washington was the last living cast member from ‘Hogan’s Heroes’ show

Hollywood industry mourns as actor Kenneth Washington, known for his high profile shows, has passed away at the age of 88.
According to Variety, the Star Trek: The Original Series star died last week on July 18.
The American actor held the distinction of being the final living star of the iconic sitcom Hogan's Heroes, the classic CBS sitcom set in a POW camp in Nazi Germany.
Kenneth made guest appearances on numerous iconic TV shows including My Three Sons, Dragnet, Petticoat Junction, The FBI, and The Rockford Files.
The Westworld actor joined the cast of Hogan's Heroes in 1970 for its sixth and final season.
He played Sergeant Richard Baker filling the role left by Ivan Dixon who portrayed Staff Sergeant James Kinch Kinchloe in the previous seasons.
Although a main cast member Kenneth's part was not as prominent as Dixon's role because the show was canceled after his first season so he didn't have time to develop the character further.
The series was popular in its early years earning 12 Emmy nominations and winning twice.
In 1967, Hogan's Heroes was acknowledged by the NAACP Image Awards for its inclusion of black actors in prominent roles.
