Meghan Markle, Prince Harry face new business trouble amid fallout with Netflix
Meghan and Harry reportedly unable to launch their longtime film project

While it was recently announced that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have lost their business deal with Netflix, it has been further reported that a film project headed by the couple has also hit the rocks amid their latest troubles.
Being developed by the couple’s production company, Archewell Productions, a film adaptation of Carley Fortune’s popular romance novel Meet Me at the Lake is one project which is currently stalled due to its association with the streaming giant.
Furthermore, sources have wondered about the delay, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are yet to find a filmmaker and cast to helm their planned production.
“By this point, you would have thought they would have got a director on board and a cast. So, what is the delay?” Page Six reported an insider.
The source further considered the “long time” it takes to develop a production at Netflix, as they added, “If the deal is up this year, then when is this film going to be made?”
Concluding their rhetorical queries, the insider stated, “Let’s be honest. Netflix got what they really wanted out of the Sussexes — their documentary.”
It is important to note that the documentary cited by the outlet’s source refers to the 2022 docuseries Harry & Meghan, which examined the fallout between the couple and the royal family, as well as a look into their life since their move away from the UK.
Despite their previous collaborations, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s deal with Netflix expires this September and according to the latest reports, the streamer is not going to renew it.
