Prince William issues ‘proud’ statement ahead of his appearance at Euro final

Prince William has voiced full support for England women’s team, as they prepare to take on Spain in the final of Euro 2025.

Ahead of his scheduled trip to Switzerland, the Prince of Wales sent a “proud” message to the Lionesses through his official Instagram page.

Recounting the “stunning comebacks” which his country’s team has made along the current tournament, William’s statement was shared alongside a repost from the team’s account on the platform as well.

“Good luck to the Lionesses tomorrow. The nation is so proud you are through to the final, after some stunning comebacks! We are all cheering you on!” the message read, signed off with a simple “W”.

To recall, the England women clinched an essential victory against Italy in the semi finals of the Euros.

The lionesses were chasing a one goal lead for most of the match, however, their rising star Michelle Agyemang’s equaliser sent the match into extra time, where her team won by scoring an additional goal as the clash ended 2-1 in England’s favour.

For today’s final, the future king will travel to Basel, Switzerland, to cheer on his team in person.

While it was previously reported that Prince William will be joined by Spanish royalty at the game, it is not yet clear whether his own family is set to accompany him.
