Ryan Gosling offers rare insight into 'Project Hail Mary' at Comic-Con
'Project Hail Mary' is set to be released on 2026

Ryan Gosling recently teased fans with his upcoming sci-fi movie, Project Hail Mary, at the 2025 San Diego Comic-Con.
On Saturday, July 26, the 44-year-old Oscar winner promoted the highly-anticipated project alongside the book's author, Andy Weir, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and screenwriter Drew Goddard.
For the unversed, Project Hail Mary is based on the 2021 science fiction novel of the same name.
The film centers on Ryland Grace, portrayed by Gosling, a middle school science teacher who wakes up on a spaceship with amnesia and must complete a mission to save Earth from an astronomical catastrophe.
Reflecting on his character, the Barbie star said, "He goes through such an emotional journey, a personal journey, he evolves in so many ways."
"As you saw in the first scene, he wakes up out of cryo and he looks like a space caveman and he's sort of in this placenta onesie thing—that I hope to be seeing at Comic-Con one of these days, that's my dream," he added.
In addition, spectators at Comic-Con were treated to a 5-minute unfinished VFX clip from the upcoming movie.
It is worth noting that Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling, is slated for release on March 20. 2026.
