Comic Con 2025: Most exciting titles announced in San Diego so far

The annual Comic Con in San Diego is scheduled to wrap up today, July 27, after a successful weekend of festivities.

Kicking off on July 24, the event hosted several cosplayers and other attendees, while many stars and creators descended upon the fun gala to promote their upcoming projects.

Here are a handful of them:

Avatar: Seven Havens

Nickelodeon celebrated the 20th anniversary of their seminal animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender, with a brand new look at the upcoming continuation of the popular fantasy adventure universe.

Unveiling artwork from the project, it was revealed at the Comic Con that the new series will introduce Avatar as an antagonist, in stark contrast to its original saviour role.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2


The 2023 horror film based on the incredibly popular video game series of the same name, the sequel to Five Nights at Freddy’s, unveiled its debut trailer at the 2025 Comic Con.

First movie’s director Emma Tammi and her original cast members Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, McKenna Grace, Matthew Lillard, Skeet Ulrich, and more, are all set to return.

Release date: December 5, 2025

Project Hail Mary


The Ryan Gosling starrer Project Hail Mary debuted an exclusive scene from the upcoming space film for the Comic Con audiences.

Featuring Gosling’s character, Rocky, the scene was reportedly set in space and depicted the teacher turned astronaut navigating his ship.

Release date: March 20, 2026

Predator: Badlands


The latest entry in the Predator franchise, starring Elle Fanning, featured a conversation with the film’s director and lead at Comic Con as well as a look at the first 15 minutes of the film.

In a first for the popular sci-fi horror series, director Dan Trachtenberg revealed that the titular Predator is going to feature as a protagonist in the upcoming release, shedding its well known villainous roots.

Alien: Earth


Another horror franchise’s upcoming installment, Alien: Earth is coming to television soon, and attendees at Comic Con received an exclusive look at the first episode of the show.

Created by Noah Hawley, the series stars Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, among others.

Release date: August 12, 2025

Pluribus


The latest TV offering from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, Pluribus debuted its first look as well as date announcement at San Diego’s Comic Con.

Better Call Saul star Rhea Seehorn reunited with Gilligan on the Apple TV + project, which the streamer has already renewed for a second season ahead of its premiere release.

Coyote vs. Acme

The long shelved project at Warner Bros. is finally getting its much anticipated cinema release, a Comic Con panel has confirmed.

Crowds attending the event got their first look at the movie, which will also feature a reported cameo from another famous Looney Tunes alum, Bugs Bunny.

Peacemaker

Finally, James Gunn stepped out during Comic Con to share exciting updates from the second season of Peacemaker, which he directs.

The director and DC Studios head was joined by the show’s star, John Cena, in full character costume, as cast and crew discussed the upcoming season as well as debuted its first trailer.
