Sydney Sweeney's recent advertising campaign with American Eagle is receiving criticism online, with audiences calling out what they perceive as uncomfortable references and suggestive content.

In the ad, which dropped a few days ago, the Euphoria star wears a signature denim outfit while delivering a cheeky line: “My body’s composition is determined by my genes.”

The camera then starts moving down her body before she says, “Hey, eyes up here.” The ad ends with the slogan: Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans.

The ad has sparked mixed reactions, while some viewers criticized it as overly sexual, and others defended it as harmless.

Others compared the ad with a controversial 1980 Calvin Klein ad featuring 15-year-old Brooke Shields.

That campaign sparked outrage when Shields famously said, “Do you know what comes between me and my Calvins? Nothing.” It was eventually banned from airing on several major networks.

One TikTok user commented, “This reminds me of Brooke Shields’ Calvin Klein ads... and that’s not a compliment.”

As of now, Anyone But You actress, has not publicly responded to the backlash or addressed the criticism.

Did the campaign use provocative imagery on purpose, or was it unintentional?
