Celebrities who appeared to have perfect glamorous life are not immune to the pain of losing a child.

Behind the spotlight and red carpets are real people who have faced the same grief and healing process as countless others.

Here are some of the stars who suffered a tough pregnancy and lost their babies.

1. Beyoncé:

Beyoncé who is married to Jay-Z and the two are parents two three children, a daughter named Blue Ivy, and twins named Rumi and Sir Carter.

In her 2013 HBO documentary Life Is But a Dream, she revealed that she suffered a miscarriage before having daughter Blue Ivy.

She said, ”About two years ago, I was pregnant for the first time, “And I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life.”

“Being pregnant was very much like falling in love,” she said about her first pregnancy. “You are so open. You are so overjoyed. There’s no words that can express having a baby growing inside of you, so of course you want to scream it out and tell everyone.”

However, before the grammy winner could share this good news with her fans she suffered some complications in her pregnancy , “I flew back to New York to get my check up – and no heartbeat,” she said. “Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat.”

Gwyneth Paltrow, an American actress known for her role in Iron Man and is married to Cold Play frontman, Chris Martin, shared that she suffered a miscarriage during her third pregnancy.

She told Mail You magazine, “My children ask me to have a baby all the time. And you never know, I could squeeze one more in. I am missing my third. I’m thinking about it.”

The actress also shared, “I had a really bad experience when I was pregnant with my third. It didn’t work out and I nearly died. So I am like, ‘Are we good here, or should we go back and try again?’ ”

During that difficult time her husband stood by her side as she told the publication, “Regardless of what happens in our marriage, I chose the best father,” she says of her rocker husband. “He is so good to the children, and to know that you had kids with such a good man is like a real weight off you. We are committed co-parents, we make all decisions together, and we lean on each other for support as well.”

3. Nicole Kidman:

Nicole Kidman experienced a miscarriage while she was married to Tom Cruise. According to Us Weekly, she and Cruise later adopted Isabella and Connor. Kidman told the outlet, “I know the yearning. That yearning. It’s a huge, aching yearning. And the loss! The loss of a miscarriage is not talked about enough. There’s an enormous amount of pain and an enormous amount of joy on the other side of it. The flip side of going through so much yearning and pain to get there is the feeling of ‘Ahhhh!’ when you have the child.”

4. Jessie J:

Jessie J, an English singer and hitmaker of Do It Like a Dude, also suffered a miscarriage in 2021. She shared the news on Instagram and later discussed it on Steven Bartlett’s podcast The Diary of a CEO.

The actress revealed that she was not feeling well one morning, and went for a scan, she expressed her grief saying, "[There was] that dreadful silence when you first have a scan and they kind of don’t say anything. I was like, ‘Just tell me the truth. What’s going on?'”

“He did another scan and he said, ‘I’m really sorry, there’s no heartbeat,'” Jessie added. “That was within three, four hours of the first one.”

“I remember just going home and not processing it,” she said. “Then the next day I went straight into glam. I did the soundcheck. I did the show.”

5. Gabrielle Union:

Gabrielle Union, an American actress, has been very vocal about her lost pregnancies and struggles with infertility.

Acorrding to the USA Today, the actress revealed that she had "eight or nine miscarriages" and that her body was "a prisoner of trying to get pregnant" for three years.

Union writes in new memoir "You Got Anything Stronger?" "I have not had words, and even after untold amounts of therapy, I am not sure I have them now. But truth matters."

"There would be anger that I had sat in the offices of the world’s leading IVF doctors, and all they saw was my age," Union wrote. "There was no investigation into any other cause for my miscarriages, and I was never correctly diagnosed or treated."

Pregnancy loss affects many people, including celebrities, and is a reminder of the challenges that can come with pregnancy.
