Here are some of the celebrities who got separated shortly after getting married:
1. Pamela Anderson and Jon Peters:
Pamela Anderson and film producer Jon Peters have known each other for more than 30 years.
The two first crossed paths in the mid-’80s at the Playboy mansion.
Decades later, in January 2020, Anderson surprised fans by announcing their secret wedding on Instagram. But just 12 days later, she confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that the pair had decided to split.
“We would be very grateful for your support as we take some time apart to re-evaluate what we want from life and from one another,” Anderson said. “Life is a journey, and love is a process… we have mutually decided to put off the formalization of our marriage certificate and put our faith in the process.”
A source told People that the decision came after Anderson “just needed to take a step back” and that “this all moved a bit fast.” Anderson later told the same outlet, “We remain friends.”
Moreover, the actress and activist claimed she was "never legally married."
By September 2020, the actress clarified on Twitter, “No hard feelings – no Marriage, no Divorce… just a bizarre theatrical lunch.”
2. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries:
Kim Kardashian’s wedding to NBA player Kris Humphries was the most followed ceremony.
It was broadcast in a four-hour E! special, but their happily-ever-after didn’t last long.
The couple got married on Aug. 20, 2011, and just 72 days later, on Oct. 31, Kardashian filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.
“I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned,” Kardashian said. “We remain friends and wish each other the best.”
Humphries, blindsided by the news, told People, saying, “I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce… I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.”
Just a month later, Humphries filed for an annulment on the grounds of fraud, something Kardashian’s friends claimed she supported.
3. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Esposito
Bradley cooper began dating Jennifer Esposito in 2005 the two got married a year later in December 2006.
However their marriage ended in a blink of an eye and after 4 months of saying 'I do,' it was all over.
Esposito told People that, “It is what it should be. You have to move on. That’s what life is about; taking a situation, making the best of it and moving on.”
4. Jennifer Lopez and Cris Judd
Pop superstar Jennifer Lopez and choreographer Cris Judd’s romance was as glamorous as it was short-lived.
The pair got married on Sept. 29, 2001, in a lavish California ceremony complete with Valentino couture and 10,000 roses.
However it lasted for eight months and they confirmed their split in June 2002 and finalized a financial settlement by July.
5. Carly Pearce and Michael Ray:
Carly Pearce, an American singer and What He Didn’t Do hit maker, tied the knot with Michael Ray in 2019, but their marriage lasted only for 8 months and by the mid-2020, Pearce filed for divorce.
“This was a hard decision. It wasn’t something she wanted to have to do,” a source told People. “This hasn’t been a quarantine realization — it was a last resort.”
Pearce later shared, “I did everything that I knew how to do… It takes two people to work on something.”
The couple’s last public appearance together was a performance at the Grand Ole Opry before officially parting ways.
