Palmer has been open about her experience with the hormonal disorder that has significantly impacted her skin, specifically causing severe acne.

The actress-singer announced her PCOS diagnosis on Instagram where she shared a makeup-free photo and expressed relief at finally understanding the root cause of her acne and other symptoms.

“For some of you this may be TMI, but for me, my platform has always been used for things much greater than me,” she wrote in an Instagram post in December 2020, adding “Polycystic [ovary] syndrome has been attacking me from the inside out my entire life and I had no idea.”

According to the I Don't Belong to You hitmaker, she struggled with severe acne, which made her feel sad and self-conscious.

“My acne has been so bad that people in my field offered to pay for me to get it fixed. I tried EVERYTHING. I did Accutane TWICE,” Palmer added, writing, “People say drink water, have a better diet, but I did all that, I ate all the 'right' things, my blood tests were fine.”

She went on to say, “This especially makes me sad because my family struggled for years and no doctor could help them, they actually misled them and just took their money.

“It’s only because of what my family sacrificed that allows me to even have the resources to share the information I’m sharing with you.

“Their fight out of poverty gave me a better life and I just want to share what I learn.”

Baldwin has spoken and highlighted how to manage the symptoms of PCOS as well as endometriosis.

The daughter of Stephen Baldwin in October 2021, via her Instagram post, mentioned, “I also have PCOS on top of my endometriosis.”

She went on to say, “My symptoms were based on my insulin resistance, which included weight gain, extreme body swelling, hair growth on my face and cysts. It was hard to diagnose since I also have endo.”

Rebecca Atkinson

Interestingly Atkinson was unaware of the diagnoses until her makeup artists suggested she might have PCOS.

The Shameless star in an interview shared that during her teenage life, her skin was clear, but into her twenties she developed cysts along her jawline.

According to the actress, initially her doctor prescribed acne medication, but on her insistence, he ran more tests which confirmed the condition.

However, after her diagnosis she started researching online and realised she had symptoms for years.

“I’d always suffered irregular periods, sometimes as long as nine months in between, but it never worried me. I did a lot of dancing, which kept me thin,” the actress added.

Nikki Garcia

In an interview with Health, Nikki Garcia along with her twin sister, Brie, spoke up about fertility struggles, with Garcia revealing her PCOS diagnosis.

Formerly known as Nikki Bella, she said, "I also found out I have PCOS — it kills your fertility."

"I’m getting brown spots all over my face, acne, weight fluctuations and hair loss…I actually just found out and was devastated," Garcia said, adding, "You research it, and there is no cure. I just pray I have some fertile eggs left and that I can still be a mom. So, yes, I do feel like being a mom is in my future. I am just not sure how soon."

Fortunately, despite her worries, Garcia did get pregnant with her son, Matteo, which came as a "huge surprise" for her.
