The keto diet, also known as ketogenic diet, seems to be the new lifestyle trend these days. It incorporates a high-fat, low-carb eating plan that has recently garnered attention over the last several years.

To understand the concept of this diet, let’s first understand the what does it do to our body.

According to Prevention, the diet sends the body into a state of ketosis. This is when molecules known as ketones collect in the bloodstream and cause the body’s blood sugar levels to dip.

In simpler words, the keto diet basically tricks the body into burning fat for energy instead of the body’s preferred method of using sugar.

However, many celebrities have also jumped on the bandwagon to try out this viral diet trend.

Kourtney Kardashian has been an avid follower of the keto diet. She has also shared about what her diet includes on her app.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star eats plenty of fresh vegetables and lean proteins and avoids high-carb foods like pasta, rice, and beans.

A specific meal Kourtney really enjoys is broccoli rice or cauliflower rice, as reported by People magazine.

“Then I would add protein, so I often ate grilled chicken and fish over broccoli rice, cauliflower rice or spaghetti squash. I mixed in roasted vegetables, fresh salads with homemade dressing, and smoothies made with avocados and bananas,” she wrote.

The Oscar-winning actress is one of the biggest fans of the keto diet, as she believes it keeps her fit.

Mainly, Halle avoids sugar and loads up on meats like chicken and beef, as well as other healthy food like vegetables.

"I eat healthy fats all day long, avocado, oil, coconut oil and I use butter, but don’t have any sugar. So when your body gets trained to burn fats, it’s constantly on fat-burning mode—that’s the secret," she told People.

Moreover, the Swordfish actress also includes the high-fat, low-carb lifestyle in meals for her son and daughter.

Halle shared that her kids love to eat stuffed zucchini boats.

LeBron James followed a modified version of the keto diet for 67 days, and it helped him lose weight.

He cut out sugar, diary, and carbs from his diet and focused mainly on eating fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as lean proteins like meat and fish.

Notably, the keto-style diet helped LeBron lose a “ton of weight” in 2014.

The High School Musical alum is a firm supporter of the keto diet.

Vanessa appeared on The Rachael Ray Show to debut her Women’s Health magazine cover. To prepare for the photo shoot, she shared that she lost 10 pounds in 30 days just by eating bacon.

"When I ate carbs, I would get that dip in the afternoon, where I felt really sluggish," she told Women’s Health magazine, adding, "When I'm off them, my energy stays consistent throughout the day.”

Last but not least, the Brazilian model revealed that she barely eats any carbs and works out at least 120 minutes every day, especially before a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

However, Adriana continues to follow the keto-based lifestyle in order to sustain her fitness.

She further revealed that she skips fired foods and instead opts for grilled or steamed option, heavily relying on lean proteins.
