East of Eden

John Steinbeck’s East of Eden is returning to the screen in a highly anticipated adaptation.

The Netflix adaptation of the 1952 novel by Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck. The seven-episode limited series, written and produced by Zoe Kazan, will be shot in various locations throughout New Zealand and will feature Florence Pugh, who will also serve as an executive producer.

The sweeping family drama, set in California’s Salinas Valley, explores themes of morality, rivalry, and the struggle between good and evil across generations.

Jennette McCurdy’s bestselling memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died, is also headed for a screen adaptation. And Jennifer Aniston is set to star in a series.

This story is about a complicated relationship between a mother and daughter. 

An 18-year-old girl who stars in a popular children’s show and her very controlling mother, played by Aniston.

It explores how their lives are intertwined, with the mother taking pride in being known as the mother of a young star.
